Your 17 year old may use the Oyster Zip card for the journey from LCY to central London single fare on the DLR (plus Underground, if you choose to change to the Central line at Bank) will be £1.35. Since the cash excess fare is £4.50 each way, the seven day card at £35.60 is a better bargain than the zones 1 and 2 card at £30.40 plus £9. Since LCY is in zone 3, you will need to either have purchased zones 1 - 3 seven day Travelcards (£35.60) or pay the cash excess fares (with a paper Travelcard for zones 1 and 2) for the journey from the boundary of zone 2 to LCY and back again. Stop C is much nearer the station entrances than stop K. The alternative is to take the number 8 bus from stop E in Bloomsbury Way to the Bank: and the DLR from there. I dislike the change at Bank, as it's a long schlep. The first is to walk from your hotel to Holborn station and take the Central line to Bank, changing there to a DLR train towards Woolwich Arsenal. ![]() You have two choices to make your way to LCY. Your 10 year old may travel on the Underground, buses, DLR and Overground for free, but will need a Travelcard or rail ticket for use with the two for one offers. ![]() Your 17 year old will pay the Adult fare for the NR paper Travelcard, as Child rate fares are availble to those ages 5 - 15. The Oyster Zip card will be of no benefit to buying a National Rail paper Travelcard for use with the two for one offers, as the two are mutually exclusive.
